Today at Robin's Sewing Cafe inside Hancock Fabric Hwy 280, instructor Zonia taught a class demonstrating a fun technique using applique and folding to create wonderful hooded towels. The class included instruction and designs for one's choice of an elephant, tiger, puppy, dog or frog.
Zonia was very knowledgeable of the different Bernia brand machines which made the class move smoothly and kept it interesting. Along with Zonia was Nanette who was sewing/embroidery savvy. She offered instruction help and introduced the class to embroidery products that are a must for one's sewing basket! Participants shared ideas, supplies and contact information. After a participant demonstrated a pair of scissors, we all agreed the applique "surgical" scissors is our favorite!

As a courtesy, Robin's Sewing Shop provided a Bernia sewing machine which literally purred! It was a pleasure to use a machine that was very user friendly and sewed so smoothly!!! The other great excitement for me was getting to use a serger. Oh my why have I not known about this!
